For restaurants and bars

Out of it? Gone from the menu in minutes.

We act as the IT department for restaurants and bars. Text us and your QR-code menu changes within minutes, even on weekends: sold out, new special, new price. We also look after your email, computers, phones, backups and website.

Your website

Your specials and events can show up on their own.

You already post your specials, live music and trivia nights on Facebook and Instagram. Your website can show those posts, so what you post shows up on your site without you doing anything extra.

All you have to do is post, the same way you do now. Your website stays fresh, and if Facebook or Instagram change how they work, we may need to update it.

Your mailing list

Fill the room on band night.

Your regulars want to know what is coming up. We can run a mailing list for you, so the people who love your place hear about it first:

  1. Patrons sign up on your website to hear about upcoming events: bands, trivia nights, specials and more.
  2. You send us what you want to say, in your own words, as rough as you like.
  3. We polish it up and send you a proof to look at.
  4. When you say it looks good, we send it out to your list.

You stay in charge of what goes out, and we do the work.

The phone, handled

Let the phone answer the menu questions.

We can set up a phone line that answers for you. She knows what is on your website and answers the questions customers ask, like your hours, where you are and whether you take reservations.

Connect her to your live menu and she knows the menu as it is right now. A caller can ask what tonight's featured dish is, even if you made it the featured item a few minutes ago. They can ask whether you carry a certain beer, or what you have that is gluten-free. Your front desk only has to deal with the calls that really need a person.

Callers just talk to her, the way they would talk to anyone on your staff. They do not have to say things in exactly the right way, and it does not sound like an automated menu or the robot voices people hate. She only repeats what is on your website and menu. If a caller asks something she cannot answer, like an allergy or ingredient question, she happily transfers the call to your host or hostess, a manager, or whoever you choose, the same way anyone on your staff would pass a call along. You get a written copy of every call sent to you, so less slips through, and callers are told the call is being written down. We set her up, we manage her, and if something changes, you tell us and we change it.

What a free look covers

How does your place look from the outside?

All we need is your web address, like yourplace.com. No passwords, no logins, nothing to install. We look at your website the way a hungry customer would, on their phone, and tell you what we see:

  1. Does your website show the right hours, phone number and address?
  2. When someone scans your QR code, does your menu open fast? Or is it a picture or PDF they have to pinch and zoom to read? A good menu fits any screen on its own, whether it is a computer, a phone or a fold-out phone.
  3. When someone searches Google for a dish or a drink, can Google read your menu well enough to find you?
  4. Do your hours and phone number match everywhere people look, like Google Maps and your Facebook page?
  5. Can a customer tap to call you, get directions, or reserve a table without hunting for the button?
  6. Do your reservation and ordering links still work?
  7. Last, can someone send an email that looks like it came from your place?

You get a short report in plain words, with the fixes that matter most at the top. You can give it to whoever looks after your computers, or to us.

A full house on a Friday

What stops a service:

  • The point-of-sale computer freezes with a line at the bar and tickets stacking up.
  • Wi-Fi or the internet drops, and card payments and online orders stop with it.
  • Supplier and reservation emails that never arrive, or land in the junk folder.
  • A website that still shows old hours, or a menu that is out of date.

When everything stops working and you cannot tell if it is the computer, the internet or the phones, you should not have to guess.

The computers behind the counter

One number to call when something breaks.

Your place runs on more computers than most people see. One runs the point-of-sale system. Another handles the accounting in the back office. Then there is the internet, the Wi-Fi, the printers and the card machines.

When something breaks in the middle of a shift, you should not have to work out which one it is, or who to call to fix it. Is it the register, the internet, or the company that makes the software?

We can take care of those computers for you. When something stops working, you call us. We figure out what is broken and who needs to fix it, and we get it taken care of. One number, one team, and no phone tag between vendors.

When your crew changes

What a new server or bartender can find on day one.

  • Help with sign-ins for the point-of-sale system and the schedule, with only the access the job needs.
  • A work email address that is protected. When someone leaves, tell us and we turn it off.
  • One number to call, with a team that keeps track of how your place is set up.

When we host it or manage it, we can also keep your website up to date, so the hours and phone number people find are the right ones.

Suppliers and payroll

A scammer can pretend to be your supplier, or you.

Restaurants and bars pay a lot of invoices to a lot of suppliers. A fake email that says "our bank account changed, send this week's payment here" can look real, and the money is very hard to get back. Check with your supplier by phone before you change where you pay.

If your email is not set up right, a scammer can also send messages that look like they came from your place. Email protection is part of what we do: we set up your email so it is much harder for anyone to pretend to be you.

We run our own company on the same setup we manage for clients.

See what your customers see.

Send us your web address and nothing else. There is no obligation, and the report is yours either way.
